Granny said it all happened years ago when Ivy was just a young pup.
Again, she struggled to recall much of anything, but she knew that there
must have been a tremendous change. A disturbance; or rather a tragedy.
This obsidian necklace was the only thing she had left of Dad’s memory.
Its once lustrous surface is now scratched and chipped, and the silver
chain had tarnished. Granny mentioned getting it cleaned once but she
never really got around to it. Ivy did try wearing it a few times,
although she thought it didn’t quite suit her. It had been sitting in
her dresser ever since.
